I am not a movie critic but with the release of Adipurush the amount of discussions happening all over the country and the World, primarily negative reviews for the film, it’s poor writing, screenplay and what not it was hard to not give my two cents on a small part of the big discussion happening.

After the release, Manoj Muntashir Shukla appeared in an TV interview, to do the damage control for the movie, with vague arguments and what not, however I will not go into much detail, you can watch the interview on AajTak’s YouTube channel and be the judge.

I want to talk about one of his argument, his counter-argument to reporter’s question about the “chadak chaap” dialogue that he wrote for the film, he with great confidence state how people are missing the fact that he is the same person who also wrote the song “Ram Siya Ram” and then goes on to narrate the lines that he wrote

Ho Janam Janam Ki Khoj Bataye
Ram Se Chalke Ram Pe Aaye
Prem Koyi Hum Aur Na Jaane
Ram Se Roothe Ram Se Maane

These are the only four lines he wrote in the 3 mins long song. But he forgets that this song was not a part of the movie for months since its first teaser release back in October, no trace of this song connected to the movie can be found.

What Om Raut and Manoj Munstashir did was they took the already popular song, luckily published by T-Series, Ram Siya Ram, whose actual writer is Shabbir Ahmed.

This is the song they blatantly took, and of course they had no problem getting the rights as it under the T-Series label already.

Now, the song itself is inspired by the original song by Ravindra Jain, but this song written by Shabbir Ahmed is a beautiful recreation of that song, the lyrics added around the chant of “Mangal Bhawan Amangal Hari” is mesmerizing, it touches the heart, you remember the lyrics by heart and you feel like singing along.

Now the recreation of the recreation made for Adipurush movie — it’s 99% the same as Shabbir Ahmed’s creation, however, the four lines that have been written and added by Manoj Muntashir are not bad, but they are mediocre. No matter how many times you listen it, it doesn’t touch your heart as well as the lyrics from the original song sung by Sachet Tondon, written by Shabbir Ahmed. That’s the difference between a great lyricists and a mediocre one — lyrics of one touches your heart and it gets place there, and then there’s another one whose lines are so mediocre you can’t even relate.

Message to Manoj — I am sure you did you claim that you wrote the entire song, but you very carefully made sure you make it seem like the Ram Siya Ram song was written in its entirety by you, which is not true. You should have mentioned the original recreation from 2021, and of course the original score by Ravindra Jain.

This is just one of the many lies the makers of the disaster Adipurush have told to the public of India to hide their incompetence and I thought it was important to share the truth.
